MSP WEEK 2025

CCMS attended the MSP Data Week 2025 that took place from October 13 to 17 in Helsinki, Finland. This event provided a valuable opportunity to assess advancements in implementing the MSP, particularly regarding data, tools, governance, and digital innovation. It facilitated networking with experts from science, policy, and practice, fostered exploration of innovations in data and digital tools, and contributed to shaping the future direction of the MSP.

The main event was the final conference of the ReMAP project, where participants had the opportunity, through case studies and practical sessions, to participate in training on the use of ten analytical tools and to hear about the findings developed by the ReMAP consortium over the last three years. In addition to the training and practical sessions, the conference offered a space for dialogue between planners, scientists, decision-makers and stakeholders dedicated to improving maritime spatial planning in European seas.

On the occasion of the public publication of its results, the ReMAP consortium, following in the footsteps of the first edition, MSP Week 2024, which took place in Marseille, is promoting this second part together with the European Commission and the MSP Platform. If the first edition focused on celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Directive, the second focuses on gathering data from the MSP data expert community.

This conference marks the end of REMAP's cycle, but it leaves open new avenues for collaboration and practical application that will continue to fuel the development of maritime spatial policies in Europe. In addition, during the TEG workshop on Digital Twins, held on Thursday 16, ReMAP's work in collecting data and information from member countries and other stakeholders was highlighted.
